MisterWhy Rewards is a customer loyalty and promotional marketing platform. This page documents exactly how customers provide consent to receive SMS messages before any phone number is collected. All opt-ins occur at the point of sale through an in-store digital kiosk operated by the participating retail store.

Customer visits a participating retail store

MisterWhy Rewards is deployed at retail store locations. The store displays the MisterWhy kiosk at or near the point of sale.

Customer interacts with the MisterWhy Rewards kiosk

At checkout, the store associate presents the customer with the MisterWhy kiosk — a tablet or screen running the MisterWhy loyalty rewards interface.

Customer is shown the consent disclosure

Before the phone number input field is accessible, the following disclosure is displayed prominently on-screen:

“By entering your number, you agree to receive promotional texts from this store. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Customer voluntarily enters their 10-digit phone number

The customer uses the on-screen numeric keypad to enter their mobile phone number. Submission is entirely voluntary — customers may decline at any time.

Customer receives promotional offers from the store they visited

After opting in, the customer may receive SMS promotional messages from that specific retail store. Only the store where consent was given will send messages to that number.

Compliance Summary

Only voluntary opt-ins

Only customers who voluntarily enter their phone number on the in-store kiosk receive messages. No numbers are added without explicit customer action.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies by store. Stores set their own promotional schedule. Customers may receive periodic promotional offers from the store where they opted in.

Opt-out honored immediately

Reply STOP at any time to cancel. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent from that store.
